The Children's Hearing and Speech Centre
The Children's Hearing and Speach Centre (Formerly the VOC) is a clinical and
educational centre for children with hearing loss.
The CHASC is an independent special needs school, pre-school and daycare
providing oral deaf education to deaf and hard-of-hearing children from
infancy to grade 12. Provincially we provide consultation, direct service,
and family support. The CHASC is the first organization in North America to
provide Auditory - Verbal Therapy R via video - teleconferencing directly to
families in their communities. The primary goal of the CHASC is assist deaf
children to develop listening and speech skills in order to integrate them
into a hearing world.
The CHASC's image of the butterfly is symbolic as it is deaf and it also
represents change and transformation.
