Harmony House

Harmony House is the first of its kind preschool in British Columbia. As a preschool with a developmental curriculum, Harmony House encourages inclusion by supporting children with autism with their peers.

Harmony House strives:

  • to provide educational programs for children with autism, largely based on the principals of Applied Behaviour Analysis.
  • to teach/provide children with autism the tools to learn and model appropriate behaviour.
  • to provide a positive climate of respect, dignity, and a commitment to support each child in achieving their full potential.
  • to encourage and support acquisition of life skills and independent living.
  • to provide training and support for families.
  • to provide training and support for professionals and workers in the field of autism.
  • to provide programs and services that develop social skills.
  • to provide ongoing strategies for children and families to live happy and successful lives together beyond the school doors.
  • to make a commitment to stay current with ongoing research, technology, and information with regard to treating autism, and applying these when deemed appropriate
